A book chapter, entitled: "Global Ports and Logistics Facilitation" written by Adolf K.Y. Ng, has now been published in a new book (Chapter 10) entitled: "Supply Chain Management and Transport Logistics" (edited by John J. Liu, published by Routledge).
Using his expertise knowledge on port economic and management, in the chapter, the author discusses how the development of global supply chain has re-shaped the role of ports nowadays, their evolution, as well as reform and re-structuring in management and governance. Special emphasis has been put on the restructuring of the container liner industries and the development of multimodal supply chain, the role of ports in facilitating global supply chains, as well as how such development affects port’s evolution, the composition of the port community, and the challenges ahead.
