Towards the 9th PPRN Annual Worskop: Preparatory meeting @ ECONSHIP 2011

Written by  THOMAS VITSOUNIS
The Port Perfromance Research Network (PPRN) will hold a preparatory meeting during the European Conference in Shipping & Ports-ECONSHIP 2011. The members of the Network will have the opportunity to  discuss progress over the past year and thinking about the agenda of the forthcoming 9th annual PPRN meeting.
The Port Performance Research Network (PPRN) is an informal network of maritime economists interested in issues of port policy. It was established at the IAME 2001 meeting in Hong Kong to undertake empirical testing of port governance and is currently coordinated by the PortEconomics associate member Mary R. Brooks (Dalhousie University, Canada) and REPEP member Thanos Pallis. Since then, PPRN has met eight times, and its members produced a summary report of port governance structures and port developments in 14 countries.
