PortEconomics members contribute in the book “Integrating Seaports and Trade Corridors” co-edited by Hall, P., Mc Calla, R., Comtois, C., Slack, B.  The book, published by  Ashgate (ISBN 978-1-4094-0401-9), examines the importance of the seaports and the corridors which connects them, for the international trade and the world economy. ENPOS members Theo Notteboom, Jean-Paul Rodrigue, Thanos Pallis and Thomas Vitsounis contributed with three chapters.

Theo Notteboom and Jean-Paul Rodrigue (along with G. De Monie) co-authored two chapters. The first one, entitled Economic Cycles in Maritime Shipping and Ports: The Path to the Crisis of 2008 describes the path towards the embeddedness of the fortune of the ports in the global economy. The second contribution,  entitled The Organizational and Geographical Ramifications of the 2008-09 Financial Crisis on the Maritime Shipping and Port Industries, helps in understanding the future operating context of ports and corridors by examining the new global economic context. The chapter by Thanos Pallis and Thomas Vitsounis focus on Key Interactions and Value Drivers Towards Port Users’ Satisfaction calls for a rethinking on how to measure performance and value added in logistics chains.
