As expected, large containerships are arriving in Latin America
As expected, large containerships are arriving in Latin America

PortEconomics members Michael Dooms, Larissa van der Lugt, Theo Notteboom, and Thanos Pallis will join international experts from the maritime-port sector will present their vision on: “The current maritime port environment and the importance of industry indicators for understanding the relevance of ports for economic development” during the Workshop organized by the Valenciaport Chair of Port Economics on October 25, 2022

On Tuesday, 25th of October, the Valenciaport Chair of Port Economics is holding the workshop ‘Port strategy and performance in the new global scenario’, in the Clock Building of the Port of Valencia, with the aim of getting a glimpse of the keys to improve port operations and to optimize their processes in the current globalized economy.

During the workshop, the President of the Port Authority of Valencia, Dr Aurelio Martinez, the Vice-Principal of Innovation and Transfer of the University of Valencia, Dr Rosa María Donat and the Director of the Valenciaport Chair of Port Economics, Vicente Pallardo will present the Chair and its objectives, the new Index developed by the Chair’s researchers “Trading with Friends?” and the new Quarterly Report on the International Economic Situation. 

This conference is part of the activity program of the Valenciaport Chair of Port Economics, the result of collaboration between the Port Authority of Valencia and the University of Valencia. This union was forged with the aim of developing research activities related to the analysis and periodic monitoring of the international economic situation, trade and its maritime-port implications, as well as promoting the dissemination and favoring the collaboration and exchange of knowledge between universities and professionals by facilitating meeting spaces.
