Following the successful first editions of 2011 and 2015, ECONSHIP returns, inviting researchers from Europe and around the globe to submit papers on the theme “Navigating the Maritime Future: Building Competitive, Sustainable, and Resilient Maritime Supply Chains”.
Proudly supported by PortEconomics, the 3rd edition of the European Conference on Shipping, Intermodalism and Ports – ECONSHIP 2026, will be held in the maritime island of Chios, Greece, 23-25 September 2026.
Call for papers
To facilitate intellectual exchange, the International Scientific Committee of ECONSHIP 2026 is looking forward to receiving via e-mail to [email protected].
- Papers covering relevant empirical, theoretical and methodological aspects – Abstracts of (at maximum) 500 words to be submitted by 30 March 2026.
- Extended abstracts of research in progress, between 1,500 and 2,500 words that comprehensively summarise the research.
- Panel proposals that might refer to special sessions by invitation only, or to an open call that aims to bring together leading, emerging and new maritime and transport scholars and practitioners. In addition to the panel chairs’ details, proposals must include an abstract of (at maximum) 300 words and be submitted by 30 March 2026.

- 15 March 2026: Submission of Abstracts/Extended Abstracts
- 10 April 2026: Notification of acceptance of Abstract/Extended Abstracts
- 15 June 2026: Deadline for submission of Full Papers
- 10 July 2026: Refereed papers returned to authors for revision
- 30 August 2026: Deadline for submission of Final Papers
- 31 August 2026: Registration due
